A charity run by women, for women and girls

Encouraging, inspiring and empowering women and girls to thrive.

Her-Place Charitable Trust runs safe, women-only spaces across Cheshire — counselling and peer support, community hubs and a launderette, period dignity supplies and inclusive movement — so that no woman or girl faces her mental health alone.

What we do

Practical help, safe spaces and a listening ear — free wherever we can make it so.

Everything Her-Place does starts with a woman or girl telling us what she needs. These are the four strands of the work your support keeps going.

  1. 01

    Wellbeing & mental health

Counselling, peer support, wellbeing days and workshops run by women, for women and girls across Cheshire — including Believe In Her, FlourisHER and Inspire Her.

    1,400 support sessions a year

  2. 02

    Her Hubs & practical help

The Crewe Community Share Hub and the Winsford Community Launderette: baby bank items, clothing, period dignity supplies and repair skills, offered without judgement.

2 community hubs, 350 sports teams supplied

  3. 03

    Active Her

Women-only, inclusive movement — walking, netball tasters, open-water dips — that puts enjoyment and friendship ahead of competition or appearance.

    40 movement sessions a season

  4. 04

    Families & campaigns

Thriving Families parenting and counselling support in Northwich and Winsford, plus SafeHer Spaces, Period Dignity and the #APlaceForHER Women's Centre campaign.

Our story

From Motherwell to Her-Place.

Founded in Crewe in 2015 as a small community interest company supporting mums, Motherwell became a charitable incorporated organisation in 2017 and grew into wellbeing hubs, counselling, campaigns and a launderette. In April 2025 it became Her-Place Charitable Trust — a name that reflects a mission for all women and girls, not only mothers. The lottery is the newest chapter: a steady, local way to fund the work.
